To cancel a health insurance plan in most states:
You will need to cancel directly through your Stride Dashboard or by calling the marketplace call center.
1. Go to your Stride Dashboard, find your health insurance plan and select "See plan details"
2. Under "Learn more" and the "Manage your plan and application" select "Cancel plan"
3. Follow the prompts to complete the cancellation
5. If you run into an issue with your cancellation or you would prefer to cancel directly with the marketplace, call healthcare.gov at 1-800-318-2596. Their call center representatives will help you cancel over the phone.
To cancel a plan for members in California:
Instructions:
1. Go to your Dashboard
2. Select "See plan details"
3. Then select "Modify Plan"
4. Select "Cancel Plan"
5. Our team will receive your request via email and submit the request with Covered California.
Special note: If this is the last day of the month and you are needing to take action outside of Stride's business hours (8am to 4pm PST), the best way to cancel is by logging into your insurance carrier's portal, calling the insurance company or calling Covered California at 1 (800) 300-1506.
To cancel a plan in these states with their own health exchanges: Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Idaho, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington State.
- If you live in a state with its own health exchange, you will need to cancel this plan directly via your state exchange user account. These states include:
- Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Kentucky, Idaho, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington State.

Important notes:
- It is possible to cancel your plan at any time, and important to do this if you're switching to a new plan to ensure that you're not double charged unintentionally.
- If you cancel coverage outside of the Open Enrollment period, be aware that you will have to wait until the next Open Enrollment cycle to re-apply unless you have a Qualifying Life Event.
