Almost all health insurance companies have an online portal where you can access your benefits, make payments, and find a doctor.
- Head to your insurance company's website and select create an account or register.
- For many of these companies like Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oscar, or Kaiser, you'll use your unique subscriber ID to verify your new account.
- Some sites will allow you to use your social security number to set up your account
- You'll then create a unique user name and password
If you don't have your subscriber ID or for some other reason you're unable to access your account, please be patient!
If your plan has just started within the last 10 business days, it's possible that your insurance company is still processing your application and uploading your information into their database. If you cannot register online, this does NOT mean your coverage is inactive. If you have successfully made your first insurance payment, your coverage is active.
We recommend waiting a full 10 business days from when your plan started to try registering online!
