You need to enter your billing information and make your first payment, also known as a “binder payment” in order for your plan to be approved. The sooner that you make that binder payment, the sooner your health plan will become approved!
If you submit your billing information with the application, you can expect the carrier to process the payment anytime between when you e-sign for the health plan and the start date of the policy.
If you don't submit your billing information with the application, you have to make your first payment before the start date. You can pay online with most carriers or over the phone and then it can take around 3 business days to see your payment deducted or withdrawn from your banking or checking account.
