The most common documentation for proof of lawful presence or immigration status includes:
- Permanent Resident Card, “Green Card” (I-551)
- Employment Authorization Card (I-766)
- Machine Readable Immigrant Visa with temporary I-551 language
You can submit your documentation in one of two ways:
- Take a picture of your documentation and upload it to your Stride Dashboard.
- Reply by mail directly to the Marketplace (Healthcare.gov or your state’s exchange such as Covered California) with any requested information.

- Certification from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)
- Document indicating withholding of removal (or withholding of deportation)
- Administrative order staying removal issued by the Department of Homeland Security
- Document indicating a member of a federally-recognized Indian tribe or American Indian born in Canada
- Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) eligibility letter (if under 18)
- A resident of American Samoa Card
- Alien number (also called alien registration number or USCIS number) or I-94 number
