The identity verification process is required in order to protect your personal information! These questions are designed based on your personal credit report that only you will be able to answer. This step is required by the federal marketplace and ensures that no one else applies for health insurance coverage under your name without your knowledge!
Your identity verification questions are based on your available credit report. You could be asked about any of your past residences, cars, lines of credit, and even your age.
If none of the options for a given question apply to you, you should select "None of these apply."
Keep in mind: There are many reasons why Experian may be unable to verify your identity. For example, if there is too little information is held about you or if your credit report is frozen or locked, Experian may not be able to verify your identity and you'll be referred to our Member Experience team to manually complete the ID verification process.
To be able to verify your identity, we'll need to complete this over the phone for security purposes. However, at least the process is short and we'll only need 2-3 minutes of your time. Please give us a call at (415) 319-6763 if you need assistance with verifying your identity for your health insurance application. Our phone line for ID verification is open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM PST.
You'll want to have the reference code handy and a form of identification, such as your driver's license or state-issued ID.
