Health insurance
If you apply for health insurance during Open Enrollment (November–December), your plan will start on January 1 of the following year unless you have a qualifying event that allows your coverage to start sooner.
If you apply for a health plan outside of Open Enrollment and have a qualifying event, your plan will start on the first day of the following month.
Dental and vision insurance
Most dental and vision plans on Stride start the day after you submit your application. If you’re directed to Allstate or Ameritas for dental or vision coverage, your plan will start the day after you e-sign. To confirm that your coverage is active, please make sure your bank account or credit card was charged.
