Which types of specialists are covered?

One of the Essential Health Benefits that all Marketplace plans must cover is Ambulatory patient services (also known as outpatient care, such as a visit to your primary care doctor or a specialist). 

Specialty doctors include the following types:

   Allergist
   Anesthesiologist
   Cardiologist
   Dermatologist
   Endocrinologist
   Gastroenterologist
   General Surgeon
   Infectious disease doctor
   Nephrologist
   Neurologist
   Obstetrician/gynecologist
   Oncologist
   Ophthalmologist
   Orthopedic surgeon
   Otolaryngologists (also known as “ear, nose, and throat” (ENT) doctors)
   Psychiatrist
   Pulmonologist
   Radiologist
   Urologist

Non-specialty doctors include family practice physicians, internal medicine physicians, pediatricians, and geriatricians.
