In some cases—yes, and in some cases—no! Whether or not you can deduct lodging depends on whether or not the city you're traveling to is different from your usual place of business.
As an example, if you currently live in a suburban area and you drive into a major city every day for work, then you may not deduct meal or lodging expenses while driving in the city.
However, if you decide that it would be profitable to drive outside of your normal driving area for a specific event (e.g. convention, music festival, etc.), then this would be considered a temporary work assignment and your meal and lodging expenses would be deductible. This is seen as business travel!
