How much do the Essentials or Complete dental plans cover for the cost of major services?

The amount you'll pay for major services will lower each year you're on your Essentials or Complete dental plan, for the first 3 years.

If you need a major service (including crowns, extractions, root canals, etc.)

During your 1st year on the plan, you’ll first pay your $50 deductible if it hasn’t been met for the year. Renaissance will cover 20% of the cost of the service. You will be responsible for the remaining 80% of the bill. 

If you get a major procedure during the 2nd year on the plan, Renaissance would cover 50% after the deductible. During the 3rd year and on, Renaissance would cover 60%.

For example, if you need a $1,500 tooth extraction...

• 1st year:
• You pay $50 deductible
• Renaissance would pay 20% of the remaining $1,450 → about $290
• This means that you'd be responsible for the remaining $1,210
• 2nd year:
• You pay $50 deductible
• Renaissance would pay 50% of the remaining $1,450 → about $725
• This means that you'd be responsible for the remaining $725
• 3rd year:
• You pay $50 deductible
• Renaissance would pay 60% of the remaining $1,450 → about $870
• This means that you'd be responsible for the remaining $580
