It depends. If you chose an HMO or EPO plan, you will most likely have to choose a different doctor. Only you can decide if this is something you are willing to do. If you do not want to switch doctors, you should choose a different plan that fits within your budget. If you are having difficulty finding a plan, try adding your doctor in Stride’s doctor search tool within the recommendation flow.
If you choose a PPO plan, you can always still visit your favorite physician; however, you may have to pay "out-of-network" rates. This usually means paying the full bill yourself and submitting a claim to your insurance company for partial reimbursement once your out-of-network deductible has been met. The amount you are reimbursed varies based on the plan. Seeing an out-of-network provider almost always costs more, so plan ahead by selecting a health insurance plan that has your doctor in its "network."
