All of the plans on Stride will only cover emergency care in other states and internationally, however PPO plans will cover some out of state (out of network) claims, but at a higher out of pocket cost.
Every health plan has a “network” of healthcare providers. Whenever you visit a provider outside of your network, you will pay a larger share of the cost. If you choose an HMO plan, your physician network is local, so you may find it harder to use your benefits in another state. If you choose a PPO plan, you will generally have access to a larger network of out-of-state providers. You can read more about network types here: What are the differences between HMO, PPO, EPO, and POS plans?
For this reason, it's important to consider where you expect to receive care before selecting a plan. Fortunately, Stride Health makes this easy and stress-free! We help you to ensure that your favorite physicians are in the networks of all the plans you are considering.
