Here's some information regarding Uber tax forms:
1099k: Uber will send you a 1099-K if you earned over $2,500 in gross payments, with no minimum transaction requirement in 2025.
1099-NEC: You will receive a 1099-NEC if you received more than $600 in promotions, referrals, and other miscellaneous payments for the tax year.
These forms are legally required to be mailed out by January 31st each year. Typically, Uber also makes them electronically available through the app by the same date.
Reporting income if you don't receive a 1099:
Even if you don't meet the criteria for a 1099 tax form, you are still required to report your income when filing taxes. You can use deposit records from your bank or directly from the app/platform you work for.
How to report Uber income:
Uber reports your income on your 1099-K, and potentially a 1099-NEC (if you earned bonuses or referrals). When filing your taxes, you’ll need to include these income totals on a Schedule C. This is an additional form submitted with your tax return to report your business income and deductions.
Using Tax filing Software (ex., TurboTax):
Report that you have income from a 1099-K and/or a 1099-NEC. If you received income from referrals and incentives but not enough to receive a 1099-NEC, you can find this information on your Uber Tax Summary and report it as "Other income" on your Schedule C.
Filling out your tax return by hand:
Include your 1099 income totals in Part I of your Schedule C.
